Anonymous Advertisements
Employers may choose to withhold their names from vacancy advertisements, but must still provide their real identity and contact details to CTLPA for verification. Authorised careers staff can access these details. Anonymous vacancies appear as “Verified Employer”, and we review the advert and recruitment link for identifying details before publication. The employer or its authorised recruiter may disclose its identity later during recruitment.
Employer Submissions And External Applications
CTLPA uses employer contact details to verify the organisation, check the vacancy and communicate about publication. These contact details and private verification notes are removed from this service 180 days after the vacancy closing date, while the limited vacancy and consent record remains. Employer contact details are not included in the published vacancy. When a vacancy uses an external recruitment page, the employer collects applications under its own privacy notice, and CTLPA does not transfer your career profile through the link.
Your Account And Profile
We use your name and email address to operate your account, verify sign-in and send service messages. Your career profile is private. It does not appear in the public member directory or in a searchable candidate database.
Submitting An Application
When you apply, the member who posted the vacancy receives a copy of your name, email address, career profile and cover note. We show the information being shared before you submit. Later changes to your profile do not alter applications already sent.
Review And Withdrawal
Vacancy owners review applications and record progress manually. Careers does not rank candidates or make recruitment decisions. You can withdraw an application in My Applications. This removes the owner's access to its contents through the site, although it cannot remove copies they have already made.
Retention
The deletion date is shown before you apply. Application contents are removed from the service 180 days after the closing date recorded at submission. A limited record of the submission, status and withdrawal remains for account history. Your saved career profile remains available for future applications.
Service Emails
We send account verification, application receipts and progress notices through Resend. Emails link to your account and do not contain your career history or cover note. Creating a careers account does not subscribe you to newsletters or marketing.
Staff Access And Queries
Staff review vacancy descriptions. The moderation screen does not expose applications or candidate profiles. Authorised technical administrators may need access to maintain the service or investigate a reported fault. For a correction, access or deletion request, contact info@capetownlawyers.co.za.
Do not include identity documents, banking details, confidential client information or sensitive case details in your profile or application.
