FIC Directive 12 requires affected legal practices to submit the documentation describing their Risk Management and Compliance Programme (RMCP) through the FIC registration and reporting platform. For institutions under item 1 of Schedule 1, Annexure A sets 9 October 2026 as the first submission date, followed by 9 October annually.
Ask the person responsible for FIC compliance in your firm to check that the correct RMCP has been submitted. Keep the submission confirmation with the firm's compliance records.
The directive took effect on 7 September 2026. Institutions within its scope must submit within 90 days of commencing business. An updated RMCP approved after the Annexure A period must be submitted within ten days of approval.
